  • 3-4 minced garlic cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

  • 1 cup dry orzo pasta
  • 1 can (14 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 3/4 cup beef stock
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • 2 cups tightly packed fresh spinach leaves
  • Salt and pepper (as needed)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the minced beef until cooked through. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Add diced onion and minced garlic; sauté until the onion is translucent. Stir in red pepper flakes if desired.
  3. Mix in Italian herbs, orzo pasta, tomato sauce, beef stock, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 10-12 minutes until the orzo is al dente.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and fresh spinach; cook until the spinach wilts.
  6. Remove from heat and mix in grated parmesan cheese before serving.
