  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: Serves approximately 12 rolls 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup warmed whole milk
  • 1 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup diced fresh strawberries
  • 1/2 cup strawberry preserves
  • 2 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 3 tbsp whole milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk to around 105°F to 110°F and combine it with the yeast in a mixing bowl. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In another bowl, mix together sugar, flour, butter, and salt. Add the egg and yeast mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5–7 minutes until smooth. Place it in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise for about 1 hour or until doubled.
  4. While dough rises, mix diced strawberries with strawberry preserves.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the strawberry filling evenly over it.
  6. Roll up tightly into a log shape, slice into pieces (about 12), and place on a lined baking sheet.
  7. Let them rise again for another 30 minutes while preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Bake for approximately 25 minutes or until golden brown on top.
  9. For the glaze, beat together softened cream cheese, butter, confectioners' sugar, whole milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
