Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup warmed whole milk
- 1 tsp active dry yeast
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 large egg
- 3/4 cup diced fresh strawberries
- 1/2 cup strawberry preserves
- 2 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
- 3 tbsp whole milk
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Warm the milk to around 105°F to 110°F and combine it with the yeast in a mixing bowl. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In another bowl, mix together sugar, flour, butter, and salt. Add the egg and yeast mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5–7 minutes until smooth. Place it in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise for about 1 hour or until doubled.
- While dough rises, mix diced strawberries with strawberry preserves.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the strawberry filling evenly over it.
- Roll up tightly into a log shape, slice into pieces (about 12), and place on a lined baking sheet.
- Let them rise again for another 30 minutes while preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for approximately 25 minutes or until golden brown on top.
- For the glaze, beat together softened cream cheese, butter, confectioners' sugar, whole milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
