  • 2 ½ cups cake flour
  • 1 cup sifted baking cocoa

  • ½ cup instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 ¼ cups buttermilk
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sifted baking cocoa
  • 3 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the sugar and softened butter until creamy. Add vanilla extract and eggs; mix well.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together cake flour, sifted cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, and pudding mix. Gradually add to the wet mixture alternating with buttermilk until smooth.
  4. Pour batter into greased baking pans and bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. For the ganache icing, melt chocolate chips, water, and butter over low heat. Stir in vanilla extract and sifted cocoa powder before gradually adding powdered sugar.
  6. Once cooled, assemble the cake with layers of ganache icing in between.
