  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Slice the strawberries and set aside one-third.

  3. Mix lemon juice, cornstarch, vanilla extract, and salt in a bowl until smooth; add to the saucepan.
  4. Stir over medium heat until boiling. Reduce heat and simmer for 4-5 minutes until thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the remaining strawberries.
  6. Cool before transferring to an airtight container; refrigerate.
