Instructions
- Prepare the strawberries by removing the green tops and chopping them into pieces.
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the strawberries, sugar, lemon juice, and salt.
- Cook while stirring regularly until the mixture simmers and juices are released.
- Simmer for about 15 minutes on low-medium heat, mashing with a potato masher for desired texture.
- Continue cooking until fully thickened; it will thicken further as it cools.
- Remove from heat and let cool before transferring to a clean glass jar for storage.
