  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter (melted)
  • 3/4 cup Brown sugar (packed light or dark)
  • 3 Large ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 2 Large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup Sour cream (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp Pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips (plus a little extra to go on top of batter)
  • 1/4 cup Mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F and prepare a 9X5 loaf pan with non-stick spray and parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. Mash ripe bananas in a separate bowl until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk melted butter and brown sugar until thick; add mashed bananas, sour cream, and vanilla.
  5. Mix in eggs one at a time, then gently fold in dry ingredients until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pan and sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow to cool before slicing.
