Ingredients
For the Banana Bread
2 large ripe bananas (mashed)
1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
For the Cream Cheese Filling
8 oz cream cheese (softened)
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Cinnamon Sugar Topping
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
Prepare the Banana Bread Batter
In a large bowl, mix the mashed bananas and melted butter. Stir in the brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Add Dry Ingredients
Add the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon to the mixture. Stir gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the bread soft and tender.
Make the Cream Cheese Filling
In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese, granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
Assemble the Bread
Pour half of the banana bread batter into the prepared loaf pan. Spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the batter. Add the remaining banana bread batter on top.
Add the Cinnamon Sugar Topping
In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle it evenly over the top of the batter.
Bake the Bread
Bake for 55–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the bread comes out mostly clean.
Cool and Serve
Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
