  • ½ white onion, thinly sliced
  • 4-5 slices ginger
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 stalk green onion, cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef into thin strips against the grain and set aside.
  2. Whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and sugar in a small bowl for the sauce.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add ginger and cook until fragrant.
  4. Stir-fry the beef strips for about 3-5 minutes until browned.
  5. Push the beef to one side and add sliced onions; cook until softened.
  6. Add green onions and pour the prepared sauce over everything; stir to coat evenly.
  7. Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
