  • 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole-rolled old-fashioned oats
  • 35 caramel squares
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with aluminum foil.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and vanilla extract; whisk until smooth.
  3. Stir in flour, oats, baking soda, and salt until fully mixed.
  4. Spread half of the mixture into the prepared pan and bake for 10 minutes.
  5. In another bowl, melt caramel squares with heavy cream until smooth.
  6. Remove the base layer from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over it.
  7. Pour the melted caramel over the chocolate layer evenly.
  8. Crumble the remaining oat mixture on top and bake for an additional 15-18 minutes until bubbly.
  9. Let cool completely before slicing into bars.
