- 1 cup apple cider
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp plain Greek yogurt
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- Pinch ground nutmeg
- Pinch ground cloves
- Pinch salt
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter (for coating)
- About 2 tbsp reduced cider (reserved from above)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (for coating)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the apple cider, melted butter, sugar, egg, Greek yogurt, and vanilla until smooth.
- In another bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
- Gradually combine the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just blended; do not overmix.
- Fill each cavity of the donut pan about two-thirds full with batter.
- Bake for approximately 10 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow donuts to cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack. Brush with melted butter and coat in cinnamon-sugar.
