- 3 to 4 ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Mash ripe bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth.
- Stir melted butter into the mashed bananas, then add sugar until well combined.
- Mix in eggs one at a time and stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Gradually fold dry ingredients into the banana mixture until just combined.
- If desired, fold in chopped nuts.
- Pour batter into the loaf pan and bake for 55 to 65 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
