These sweet-and-savory chicken tenders are coated in brown sugar, warm spices, and crispy turkey bacon for a caramelized, flavorful finish. They bake up juicy on the inside with a lightly crisp exterior, making them perfect for an easy dinner, appetizer platter, or crowd-pleasing snack.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb chicken tenders (about 810 pieces), or chicken breast strips
8 slices turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Cooking spray or oil, for greasing

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or sheet with cooking spray or oil.
  • In a medium bowl, mix the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  • Pat the chicken tenders dry. Toss them in the brown sugar spice mixture until evenly coated.
  • Arrange the coated chicken tenders in a single layer in the prepared baking dish.
  • Sprinkle the cooked, crumbled turkey bacon evenly over the chicken, gently pressing it so it adheres.
  • Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sugar coating is bubbly and caramelized.
  • Let rest for a few minutes before serving to allow the glaze to set slightly.

Notes

  • Thin-cut turkey bacon crisps best and adds texture.
  • Light brown sugar gives a mellow sweetness, while dark brown sugar adds deeper molasses flavor.
  • Drying the chicken helps the coating stick and caramelize properly.
  • Avoid excess oil so the bacon topping stays crisp.
