- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon red food coloring
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar (for cheesecake layer)
- 1 egg (for cheesecake layer)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for cheesecake layer)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix in cocoa powder, red food coloring, flour, and salt until smooth.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, reserving a few tablespoons for swirling later.
- In another bowl, beat softened cream cheese with sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth. Spread this mixture over the brownie layer.
- Drop spoonfuls of reserved red batter on top and swirl gently with a toothpick.
- Bake for 28–32 minutes until edges are set but center is slightly jiggly. Cool completely before slicing.
