Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 package (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water and sprinkle yeast on top. Let stand for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add olive oil, salt, garlic powder, Italian herbs, and 2 cups of flour to the yeast mixture. Stir until combined; gradually add remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 6-8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the risen dough and mix in mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses evenly. Shape into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool slightly before slicing.
