- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks), melted

- 2 cups cake flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder

- ⅔ cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the sugar and melted butter using an electric mixer until light and airy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, sift together the cake flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually incorporate this dry mixture into the wet ingredients.
- Gently fold in the sour cream until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the greased baking dish and sprinkle with additional sugar on top.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the center.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
