Ingredients
- 4 lemons (peel only)
- 1 liter milk
- 600 grams granulated sugar
- 1 vanilla bean
- 500 mL Fresh lemon juice
Instructions
- Wash the lemons thoroughly and peel them using a vegetable peeler, avoiding the bitter white pith.
- Place the lemon peels in a mason jar and add your chosen alcohol alternative. Seal tightly and let it steep in a cool dark place for at least 6 days, swirling daily.
- After steeping, strain the mixture through cheesecloth into a clean container to remove solids.
- In a saucepan, warm the milk with sugar and the split vanilla bean until dissolved. Cool completely before mixing with the strained lemon infusion.
- Strain again and store in an airtight bottle in the refrigerator or freezer.
