Ingredients

  • 8 butter croissants
  • 8 slices of cooked chicken
  • 60g flour
  • 500ml milk
  • 50g butter
  • 250g grated cheese (such as emmental)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Nutmeg to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the flour and stir until smooth.
  3. Gradually whisk in the milk until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in the grated cheese, seasoning with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  4. Slice each croissant horizontally without cutting all the way through and place a slice of chicken inside each.
  5. Spoon the cheese sauce generously into each croissant.
  6. Place assembled croissants on a baking tray and bake for about 24 minutes or until golden brown.
