Ingredients
Scale
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 large onion (about 2 cups)
- 1 teaspoon vegetarian Worcestershire sauce
- 5 cups cauliflower slices (about 1 medium head)
- 0.5 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
- 0.75 teaspoon dried thyme
- 0.5 teaspoon ground pepper (divided)
- 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
- 0.25 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C) and prepare a large baking sheet with cooking spray.
- In a skillet over medium heat, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add sliced onions and cook for about 5 minutes until softened.
- Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and ¼ teaspoon of ground pepper. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook until golden brown (10-15 minutes), adding water if necessary.
- Arrange cauliflower slices on the baking sheet. Combine remaining olive oil with garlic powder and salt; brush over each slice.
- Roast for about 10 minutes until tender, then add caramelized onions and Gruyère cheese on top. Return to oven for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts.
