- 100 g neutral oil
- 283 g whole milk (room temp)
- 2 eggs (room temp)
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 227 g unsalted butter (room temp)
- 12 oz cream cheese (cold)
- 340 g powdered sugar (sifted)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two round baking pans by greasing and flouring them.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and spices until well combined.
- In another bowl, beat room temperature butter and dark brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add neutral oil, whole milk, eggs, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture; mix until fully incorporated.
- Gradually combine dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just blended.
- Divide batter evenly between the baking pans and bake for about 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow cakes to cool before frosting with cream cheese icing made by mixing room temperature butter with cold cream cheese and powdered sugar.
