Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine fresh blackberries and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat until softened and mashed into a thick puree (about 20 minutes). Allow to cool.
- In a mixing bowl, beat room temperature butter and cooled blackberry puree until smooth.
- Gradually add powdered sugar while mixing on medium-high speed until creamy.
- Stir in milk or cream and vanilla extract; adjust consistency as needed.
- Frost cooled cupcakes or cakes as desired.
